Samira is a senior control research engineer at Nimbus Centre. She received her B.Sc. degree in Aerospace Engineering and M.Sc.degree in Flight Dynamics and Control from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Iran in 2005 and 2007, respectively.
She started her PhD at Cork Institute of Technology in October 2008 and finished her doctoral study in June 2012. Following her close collaboration with Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, during her PhD, she published several joint papers and a book Chapter with control experts in Delft Control Centre.
Samira joined Nimbus Centre in April 2012, where her responsibilities included designing predictive controller for building heating systems. In May 2013, she joined the STOS (Solar Thermal Optimization System) project and currently she is working as a Senior Researcher on the EU funder H2020 TOPAs "Tools for Continuous Building Performance Auditing" project that investigates the reduction of the gap between predicted and actual energy use across blocks of buildings.
Her research interests include: Model Predictive Control, Distributed Control, Distributed Estimation, Building Thermal Energy Management, and Distributed Optimization.
