The TOPAs European consortium of academic and industrial partners, led by Motorola Solutions, has recently completed connecting the first pilot buildings in a project aimed at reducing energy consumption. The buildings, at the Cork Institute of Technology, were connected with an early prototype of the TOPAs project (Tools for Continuous Building Performance Auditing) cloud-based analytic platform.Launched in November 2015, TOPAs consortium is building a set of analytic tools for continuous performance auditing of energy consumption in office buildings, aiming to reduce the gap between predicted and actual energy consumption. The project targets reducing that gap to 10% and contributing to reduced energy consumption in the pilot regions by 20%. The project outcomes will be tested and validated in three representative sites of commercial and public buildings in Ireland and France.Read more about the pilot site installation here.
