To celebrate International Women’s Day Silicon Republic offers expert advice from women at the forefront of engineering, including tips from our own Ramona Marfievici!
“Pursue your passions and what challenges you”, says Ramona. “That will keep you going when the going gets tough. Don’t ever let anyone stop you from pursuing your dream and it will pay off. Be confident and keep trying. Yes, engineering can be an extremely challenging field to pursue, and there are going to be bumps along the way during the learning process, but trust yourself. Every engineer started off in exactly the same position you are in. Just continue to be curious!”
Ramona obtained her PhD degree in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Trento, Italy, in 2015. In 2002 she received a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science at Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania and in 2003 she completed M.S. in Information Systems at the same faculty. Her research interests are broadly in the areas of wireless networks, pervasive computing and cyber physical systems.
