Supports & Business Response Plan

  • Post category:News

It’s been an unusual and uncertain time for the entire world with COVID-19. Whilst everyone’s health and safety comes first, it is also a time where a lot of organisations and start-ups are left feeling vulnerable about their jobs and at a loss of where to go from here. We would like to reassure all of our clients and anyone who was about to start a business that here at Nimbus Research Centre, it is business as usual.

We are incredibly fortunate that all our staff members can work remotely. Whilst taking all the precautions to keep our staff safe, we are delighted to announce that we can continue to work with all our clients as well as undertaking new projects at this challenging time. We are all finding ways to adapt to the changing environment and for us this includes daily conference calls with all staff members to ensure that our clients’ needs, expectations and the delivery of projects are met as efficiently and effectively as before. Any equipment that was needed to finalise work has been taken for home use by our qualified staff.

Our aim during this time is to ensure that we are helping and guiding Irish businesses as much as possible with all the relative information and supports. For those business that are uncertain of what funding, supports and restrictions are in place, below are some Twitter accounts that may be of some use:

As this is a time of uncertainty for all businesses, Enterprise Ireland has published a guide to assist affected companies in transitioning through the immediate and critical challenges that Covid-19 presents. This will help to ensure that businesses are prepared and informed on the most up-to-date advice and supports available.

We are currently working on some amazing feel-good projects that have a positive effect on society, one of which is ChatPal, a chatbot created to support and promote mental wellbeing in rural areas. The motivation behind this project is to understand the mental health and digital mental health requirements of older and younger citizens in rural and sparsely populated NPA regions. At times like these, technology such as ChatPal is vital.

The Nimbus Centre will continue to provide technology research and innovation that has a positive impact on industry, education and our society. As we work with clients of all sizes, from startups and SMEs to multinationals, to develop product prototypes, we will continue to act as a resource to bring business ideas to life, acting as an extension of the company’s research and development capability.
