Project Summary

CONNECT is the world leading Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Future Networks and Communications. It brings together world-class expertise from ten Irish academic institutes to create a one-stop-shop for telecommunications research and innovation. Its mission is to develop solutions to the communications challenges facing society. New broadband architectures, new cellular technologies and the Internet of Things is the main focus of the centre’s work.

Main Objectives of Project

CONNECT aims to design open communication systems that enable multiple service providers to share network resources as they compete to satisfy the demands of a diverse set of end users.

Nimbus Research Centre is a core partner supporting CONNECT’s research that enables new IoT innovations, platforms and devices to be developed and tested in our large-scale Internet of Things testbed.
