Bio
Rose Bain is a senior research engineer at the Nimbus research centre with interests including Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Big data and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Rose has completed a BSc in Applied Physics from UCG and a MEng in Micro Electronics from UCC. She also completed a HDip in Data Analytics from CIT in 2017.Rose has more than twenty years’ experience of engineering in a semiconductor technology firm Analog Devices which involved problem solving through Big Data Analysis, developing and maintaining SPC control of a complex, high-technology, manufacturing line through automated systems, optimisation of yield on products and processes, along with engineering management.
Recent projects at Nimbus include work on applications using Machine Learning for forecasting applications, Natural Language Processing for Sentiment Analysis and development of Product Recommendation algorithms for web-based retail providers.
Her research interests include: Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Big Data, Statistics, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
